Patience, People Development Director, has been with Global Mamas since 2003.
My name is Patience Treve, hailing from Senya Bereku in the Central region of Ghana. Born to Mr. Joseph Essibu, an accounting teacher at St. Augustine’s College, and my mother, who was self-employed, my upbringing instilled in me a strong sense of dedication and community. Now at 44 years old, I am happily married with three children, all currently in school.Â
My journey with Global Mamas began in 2003 during my internship at the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce in Kumasi. There, I stumbled upon an advertisement in the Daily Graphic that led me to apply, interview, and ultimately join this remarkable organization. Drawn to Global Mamas’ mission of empowering women, I knew I had found the perfect fit for my aspirations.
The core of my motivation is a commitment to nurturing the skills of producers and employees. I believe in continuous development, ensuring they meet the high standards Global Mamas set while enhancing their personal growth. A source of immense pride for me is our Smart Goal Program, designed to mentor and empower the Mamas toward achieving their business and personal goals. Witnessing their journey towards sustainable livelihoods and educational opportunities for their families fills me with joy and fulfillment.
As a leadership team member, my role involves orchestrating all collective efforts. I facilitate communication among team members, ensuring everyone is aligned with the organizational goals. Through regular updates and open dialogue, we foster a cohesive environment that propels us toward success. My ultimate goal is to see Global Mamas flourish as the leading fair trade organization in Africa. The impact of our work extends beyond professional success; it has transformed lives, including mine.
Through this journey, I’ve secured a stable income, invested in land, and witnessed the remarkable achievements of the other Mamas and their families. As I reflect on my legacy, I aspire to see every Mama realize their dreams and retire with dignity. Our leadership team is deeply committed to the growth and prosperity of Global Mamas, driven by a shared vision of empowerment and progress.
To our valued customers and donors, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your support sustains our mission, of creating opportunities for African women and their communities. Together, we are changing lives and building a brighter future.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Medaase Pa.
